Erik has been the pastor of Lyndale since May of 2014. However, he did serve the church as interim for six months prior to his calling to be the full-time Pastor. Prior to coming to Lyndale he served as youth minister in Lawrenceville, Chesterfield, and Roanoke, VA, and High Point, NC. In 2003, Erik became the pastor of a church in High Point, NC and then served as pastor of a church in Nokesville. 

 

Erik is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a BS in French and foreign language and literature. He used his degree to teach in middle and high schools in the Guilford Co. School system. After teaching for two years, Erik realized his calling to ministry. He went to Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (BTSR) and received a Master of Divinity in 2000. 

 

Erik has a heart for ministry and missions. His philosophy of ministry is to help people where they are in their journey to seek and serve the Lord. He enjoys helping people discover their God given potential and helping them use those gifts to serve our community and the Kingdom of God.  Erik believes in working alongside people and has done this through mission work in our local community, Haiti, New Orleans, Kenya, Brazil, Ocean City, and Southwest Virginia.

 

Erik is married to his wife Caroline and they have one son, James. Our pastor enjoys spending time with his family, trying new restaurants, going on new adventures, speaking French, going to the gym, and keeping up with his young son.
