Missions - Lyndale Baptist Church

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."  Matthew 25:35

Our commitment to serve our Lord extends far beyond our church building.  We send school supplies to an impoverished community in Virginia and have an ongoing project to package meals to help those in need internationally. Our mission teams have gone to many areas domestically including the Gulf Coast, Appalachia and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota as well as far off Panama and Costa Rica.

How blessed we are to bring God's care and love to those who need our help and whose lives have touched ours.

To help fund our mission teams, we sell Christmas Trees and all the profit goes into missions.

Our "Trees for Missions" is an annual event which helps us touch the community in a very relational way and gives the church an opportunity to be involved with missions.

Other activities we sponsor are our Free Community Dinner and our homeless ministry Pennies From Heaven.  Our "no strings attached" Free Community Dinner is held the second Friday night of each month from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  We open our doors and offer this meal as a way to reach out into our community with friendship, love and caring.  Our Pennies From Heaven ministry takes us into Richmond to serve our homeless on the second Saturday of each month  Through donations from our church family and friends we strive to provide clothes and hygiene items to those who would otherwise go without.  As we serve the homeless, we know we are serving a God who welcomed in the disenfranchised and loved the lost.

Opportunities for service are always growing and we know that as we serve we too grow.  We become the kind of people Jesus has created us to be.  As Jesus served, we also serve in words and actions.
